Oil painting

In this class students will be instructed in the technique of oil painting. This class is suitable for beginner to advanced students. Students will mostly be working from prints of old master paintings and photo references.

Students new to oil painting will be working with black and white initially, then progressing through to full colour as skills are developed.

This class requires drawing experience.

Portrait PAINTING Basics

This class focuses on monochrome oil portrait painting, you will learn the art of capturing likeness of their portrait subjects.

Starting with black and white before gradually transitioning to colour you will be guided with helpful demonstrations along the way.

Students will work from prints of master paintings and photographs. Whether you're new to painting or looking to refine your techniques, this class provides a thorough introduction to portraiture painting.

Watercolour with it hao pheh

Portrait drawing fundamentals***NEW

In this class, students will learn the technique of drawing specific to portraiture, with a focus on accurately capturing the individual features of the face. Each session will include a structural explanation and a demonstration, followed by time to practice these techniques.

This course will focus on studying and drawing individual facial features, using prints of master paintings and photographs as references. Students will work on combining these features to create a full portrait.

This class is suitable for beginners to intermediate students, with no previous experience required.

- HB/2B Pencils  
- White or cream coloured pencil  
- Sharpener  
- Toned paper sketchbook (A4 or A3)  
- Kneadable eraser  
- Hard eraser (traditional block shape or pen shape)
