Monday
All things drawing
This class is for beginners and focuses on exploring a variety of drawing techniques to help develop your skills. You will learn how to work with shading and tonal values to create depth, and experiment with using line to define form and structure. We will explore how directional strokes can suggest movement, as well as how to approach contour drawing and negative space. The class will also cover blending techniques, understanding basic perspective and proportion, and how to capture both urban scenes and the human figure through sketching.
Throughout the course, we will work with different materials, including graphite, pencil, pens, coloured pencils, ink, charcoal, and pen & wash. In the final two weeks, you’ll have the opportunity to transform one of your drawings into a painting, expanding your practice and learning new techniques for working with colour and paint.
Please bring your preferred drawing materials and good-quality paper (110gsm or heavier, A3 size). This class is perfect for anyone wanting to build confidence in drawing, regardless of experience.
Mondays 09:45am to 12:15pm (2.5h)
03 February - 31 March
Cost: $253 for 8 weeks (nc 10/03)
Room: Studio 2
