Planning a trip to Japan? Whether you’re dreaming of an adventure or hoping toconnect with locals on a deeper level, this welcoming six-week Travel Japanese Conversation course will give you the essentials you need for real situations - orderingfood, buying tickets, asking for directions and checking into your hotel.
In a relaxed, friendly class, you’ll practise simple conversations, enjoy fun role-plays and pick up cultural insights on greetings, dining etiquette, transportation and everyday manners, so you can navigate Japan confidently and make meaningful connections along the way.
This course is suitable for absolute beginners with no previous Japanese. It’s the perfect short course before visiting Japan - and many past students tell us they finish feeling genuinely ready (and excited!) to go to Japan and use their new language skills.

SURVIVAL JAPANESE (LEVEL 2 )
Already comfortable with hiragana and katakana and simple sentences?
This friendly Level 2 Japanese class is for learners around the lower–middle JLPT N5 level who want to keep going. Whether you’re learning for future travel, for work, or to communicate with Japanese friends, you’ll build confidence and satisfaction as your skills grow.
Each week we review key grammar and build practical vocabulary for everyday situations (shopping, eating out, daily life), then put it to use in pair work, role-plays and small-group conversation. You’ll also extend your reading and writing with short texts and beginner-friendly kanji, always linked to real communication and to learning about Japanese culture, history and traditions.
Ideal if you’ve completed a beginner course, can read hiragana and katakana, and would like to continue your Japanese in a relaxed, supportive, and friendly class.

Has the trip to Japan piqued your interest in learning more than just saying “arigatou”?
Are you new to Japanese, or returning to study after a break?
Even if you can’t recognise the Japanese alphabet, this course does not require it - we focus on speaking and listening in class.
In a supportive, interactive environment, you’ll role-play practical situations, build a solid foundation in survival conversation, and practise natural-sounding Japanese from the very first lesson. By the end, you will feel more confident using Japanese in everyday situations and on future trips to Japan.
The course is an ideal bridge into further Japanese study if you wish - and a friendly next step if you’ve taken my Travel Japanese Conversation course before
