Thursday
hand-building & wheel-throwing
For students looking for an introduction to clay or those well out of practice we start with getting your hands on the clay. A simple exercise, pinch pots. As part of the first few weeks further skills based exercises will be covered from working with slabs, coil building, basic wheel throwing, turning etc.
As the weeks progress students will then be guided through preparing work for firing, glazing and decorating and understanding the ceramic process. Students who join this class with some experience or a project in mind are encouraged to jump right into their projects and ideas with the teacher to guide them with processes and materials.
