Iraqi food is renowned for its bold flavours, fresh ingredients and aromatic spices, as well as traditional sweets.

Join us for a hands-on cooking workshop followed by a sit down supper. 

Learn how to make Rana's traditional Eggplant Casserole and Rice with Vermicelli. This will be followed by Date Balls, a traditional and popular sweet treat, and Black Tea which is an integral part of Iraqi culture and a symbol of hospitality.

Hula Hoop Workshop

Learn the art of hula hooping with world champion, Jenny! Don't worry if you haven't hula hooped since primary school or if you've never hula hooped before. As long as you can move your hips, you can hula hoop.

Jenny will show you the basics of waist hula hooping and then you get to choose your own adventure. You can enjoy the relaxing flow of gentle hooping or learn a variety of techniques to give you a unique core workout.

Jenny will provide all the hoops, just bring a water bottle and a positive attitude. You'll even get to try out the hula hoops she used to break 3 Guinness World Records.

Little Hands Clay handbuilding (8 - 12 years)

In this two-hour workshop, we invite young artists aged 8-12 years to experiment with the fundamentals of clay. They will learn different handbuilding techniques to craft their own sculptures, figures, or functional pieces, and then add their own personal touch with creative decorations.

This workshop offers a chance to develop a deeper understanding of clay while having fun with a hands-on project.

All materials are provided. Come explore, create, and enjoy the world of clay!

Teen Clay wheelwork (12 - 17 years)

This workshop is designed for older makers aged 12-17 years to immerse themselves in all things ceramics. Students will begin by learning various clay techniques to create a form or vessel, starting with a demonstration of basic wheel throwing techniques.

 Students will then be guided through a range of methods, including wheel throwing and hand-building techniques such as slab, coil, and pinch pots, along with texture and surface decoration.
