This is a game that originated in China but is loved and played all around the world. Not played with traditional card symbols such as Hearts, Diamonds, Spades and Trumps but tiles that have symbols unique to this game. Learn the symbols and the language and enjoy the satisfaction of being able to shout 'Pong, Kong or Mahjong!

Learn to play Mahjong with Sarjit
This introductory Mahjong course is structured to build your skills progressively, guiding you from the very basics through to more advanced strategies. Each lesson is designed to focus on a particular aspect of the game, ensuring a solid foundation before moving on to new challenges.
Lesson 1: Aim is to become familiar with the 148 tiles and focus on Pungs and Kongs as well as learning how to scoring these hands. Often referred to as Ordinary Mahjong.
Lesson 2: Continue Ordinary mahjong with an addition of a Chow and learn to score these hands.
Lesson 3: Applying selection strategies and focusing on Chow hands including Knitting hands
Lesson 4: Additional hands using the book, The Mah Jong Player’s Companion, by Patricia A. Thompson and Betty Maloney
Class Materials: It’s recommended that you buy this book, The Mah Jong Player’s Companion, by Patricia A. Thompson and Betty Maloney, print outs will be provided for the first couple of lessons.
