Open Floor is a quickly growing movement practice that uses a lively musical soundscape that supports the exploration of core movement resources that can be carried forward to benefit our life off the dance floor as well.  You're in good hands with Teri McNeil, our Dance Movement Specialist.

Never too late to Tango! 


The history of tango began in Buenos Aires, Argentina in the late 19th century.  1913 became a peak year for tango all over the world being the dance everyone wanted to learn, even changing fashion making women give up their Victorian corset so they could better master the dance.  
Be one of the first to enjoy the resurgence of Social Tango led by our passionate instructor Ays.

Early morning Qigong with Anna

Qigong combines integrated physical movement, mental cultivation and regulated breathing.  This activity is designed to guide and induce the free flow of energy Qi throughout the body, maintaining the harmony of Yin and Yang, which promotes health and greater sense of well being.  Qigong increases vitality, impacts positively to improve medical conditions and in this way will improve and prolong the quality of life. Suitable for all ages.  Held at 405 Camberwell Rd, Camberwell.

Tai Chi on Tuesdays & Thursdays

Tai Chi is a recreational fitness form of flowing movements designed to exercise and develop the body and mind in unison. the movements are preformed in a slow dream-like pace, with deep concentration and diaphragmatic breathing to transport one into a state of tranquil relaxation. Tai Chi uses principles of corrective breathing, controlled stretching and gentle movement to improve strength and balance.  Suitable for all ages.  Held at 405 Camberwell Rd, Camberwell.
Tuesday Beginners Class (level 2/3): 9.00am - 10.00am

Stretch and Core Strength

Strength and agility for all levels of fitness - perfect for seniors and younger. 
These sessions are customised to the needs and abilities of the individuals in the group. You will improve strength and flexibility and, therefore, your general health and wellbeing. Classes focus on stretching, core strength and body balance work. Work within your limits in this small class. Bring a mat.  Held at 405 Camberwell Rd, Camberwell.  Can try a class for casual rate to see if this suits you (depending on class enrolments.)

Walk & Talk Groups

Walk and Talk

We currently have a number of walking groups heading out on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings.  

Head off for a walk around the local area.  Group excursions for longer walks are occasionally organised. Larger groups divide into two for those who wish to walk at a brisker pace and for those who require a more gentle amble. All groups meet for coffee and chat afterwards.

Tuesday Group:      9.30am - 10.30am
Wednesday Group: 9.30am - 10.30am (Slower Pace)
Thursday Group:     9.30am - 10.30am

Camberwell Community Centre prides itself on providing programs and activities for the local Boroondara community. We offer Adult art, well being, langauge and general interest programs and a variety of adult activity groups. We also offer programs for school aged children. We are a meeting point for many local groups and organisations and offer a variety of rooms and a large hall for hire.
