Card Players

Do you love playing cards? We currently run a number of card playing groups including, Solo Learn to play solo and Bridge. 
New members are welcome.

We also would welcome enquiries from those who enjoy other card or board games so we can get people together to play the game of their choice.

New 500 card group

Fridays: 1pm to 3pm
Cost: $5 per week plus annual membership

Solo for independent players

A group for those who know how to play the game. This group currently plays each Tuesday and there is generally 4 to 5 tables.

Tuesdays: 12.30pm to 3.30pm
Cost: $5 a session and annual centre membership 

Supervised solo - Improve your skills

This class is supervised for those who might like the attention of the tutor to help and guide them with those tricky hands such as No Trumps or Mazere. Also suitable for those who have attended our 'Learn to Play Solo class' and want to continue developing their game.

Wednesdays: 9.30-11.30 am
Cost: $7 a week

Learn to play solo

Held when we have sufficient numbers on Wednesdays from 11.45 am-1.45 pm. Generally runs once or twice a year.
Next class in 2017
Cost: $95 (includes book)

This group caters for  those who know and love the card game of Bridge (Duplicate).
If you don't have a partner to play with please ring Caryl (or the CCC office) and we will try and match you up with someone, or we'll keep your name on file until we have another

Mahjong (western version)

This is a game that originated in China but is loved and played all around the world. Not played with traditional card symbols such as Hearts, Diamonds, Spades and Trumps but tiles that have symbols unique to this game. New players can sign up for the Friday LEARN to PLAY MAHJONG classes (see below) and then join one of the ongoing groups. Learn the symbols and the language and enjoy the satisfaction of being able to shout 'Pong, Kong or Mahjong!

Board Games

We  welcome inquiries from  those who enjoy  board games and would like to gather with others to play regularly. Ring the office to register your interest and we will see if we can get people together to play the game of your choice.


For those who love to play scrabble. Group meet on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursday of each month.

Camberwell Community Centre prides itself on providing programs and activities for the local Boroondara community. We offer Adult art, well being, langauge and general interest programs and a variety of adult activity groups. We also offer programs for school aged children. We are a meeting point for many local groups and organisations and offer a variety of rooms and a large hall for hire.
